This is the Maqam of Sayyiduna Dihya al-Kalbi (رضي الله عنه) in Damascus. When Sayyiduna Jibril would come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would often come in the physical form of Dihya al-Kalbi because he was a man who was physically very beautiful. Allah loves His Beloved ﷺ so much that He would make His angels resemble the Companions of Rasulallah ﷺ. How unfortunate are those who try to find faults in those who gave us this deen?
One day, the Prophet ﷺ asked his wife, Umm Salamah, 'Who is this?' She replied, 'Dihya,' and was later told that it was Sayyiduna Jibril. The rank of the Prophet's ﷺ wives was so great that Sayyiduna Jibril descended and gave Sayyidah Khadijah his salam and gave her glad-tidings of a palace in Jannah. Another occasion, he desended and gave Sayyidah A'ishah his salam. Allah said, 'O wives of the Prophet, you are like no other women!' If the Prophet's ﷺ wives are beyond every other female due to their proximity to him, their service for him, their love for him, and their devotion for him ﷺ — how can any one ever be similar to Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ?
